Oxford Neighborhood Association Unveils “Peaceful Path” Resting Space, Honors Community Leaders

The Oxford Neighborhood Association is thrilled to announce the opening of its “Peaceful Path” resting space, established in 2022, with the name chosen by community members in 2023. The unveiling will be celebrated with a recognition ceremony honoring key leaders who have significantly contributed to peace and unity within the community.
The event will recognize the invaluable contributions of several organizations, including Optimistic, Copeland Contractor, Kingdom Doors Rev Johnson, Brownlee’s, and Vincent Village. Special thanks are extended to the City of Fort Wayne for their generous contributions and unwavering support, as well as to Design Collaborative for their outstanding graphic design work.
The “Peaceful Path” project aims to enhance community well-being by providing a serene space for rest and reflection, and by promoting the Oxford Neighborhood Association’s goals of fostering family businesses, homeownership, and civic engagement. Located just a half-mile east of the Fort Wayne Trails, the “Peaceful Path” encourages residents to “Take a Seat” and “Take a Rest,” while also promoting active lifestyles with its proximity to biking and walking trails.
The recognition ceremony for leaders will was held on October 18, 2025, honoring individuals like Pastor Harold Johnson for their dedication to peace, safety, and unity on Fort Wayne’s Southeast Side.
The event will feature live music, entertainment, and refreshments, offering a festive atmosphere for community members to come together and celebrate this achievement.
