Library to Offer Bilingual Storytimes in German and Spanish

The Allen County Public Library is proud to invite families to a series of engaging bilingual Storytime events designed to celebrate language, culture, and community connections. These interactive programs, hosted at the Main Library, will
introduce children to the beauty of multilingual storytelling through fun-filled activities, songs, and exploring languages.
The German Storytime will focus on classic stories and rhymes in both English and German. This lively session will engage young minds while introducing them to the sounds and rhythm of the German language. The Bilingual Nature Storytime Hike will feature a
nature-themed story in both English and Spanish followed by a guided hike, encouraging early literacy and outdoor exploration.
“Bilingual storytimes empower children to see their languages and cultures reflected in the stories they hear,” said ACPL Bilingual Partnerships and Programs Specialist Esteban Coria. “They help expand vocabulary, listening skills, and cognitive flexibility
in both languages, while also strengthening family bonds and showing young learners that every voice—and every language—matters.”

our community and reflecting its diversity in cultures, abilities, and lived experiences.” To view the full plan, visit
