The Dream Center Fort Wayne recently hosted a powerful and engaging community hiring event. An estimated 150 people attended the event on Monday July 21st from 1pm to 3pm. With more than 200 responses generated via social media, the event proved to be a meaningful opportunity for local job seekers and employers to connect in an uplifting family-friendly environment.

A diverse group of organizations took part in the event, including Ella’s House, She's Safe Transit, Healing Angels, Ivy Tech, Questa, and First Source Bank. Each offered unique resources and job opportunities ranging from education and mental health to banking and workforce training. Many attendees were able to secure interviews on the spot, and some walked away with job offers by the end of the event.

Among the guests was a local woman named Kam, who attended with her husband and their baby. Her husband came in search of job opportunities, but Kam left just as inspired. She shared her gratitude for the Dream Center’s efforts and expressed interest in participating in the next event—not just as an attendee, but as a contributor. Kam runs a small business called, “True Connect Services LLC”, that offers remote, work-from-home positions and said she would love to offer opportunities to others in the community at future events.

The sense of community was extraordinary, with people of all ages attending, including families with children. The Dream Center made sure it wasn’t just about jobs, but about building lasting connections, providing access to resources, and inspiring hope.

Fox 55 News also came out to report on the event, highlighting the Dream Center’s commitment to building a stronger southeast Fort Wayne through accessible, grassroots efforts. Their coverage gave the event an even wider platform and helped spread awareness of the Dream Center’s mission.

Due to the overwhelming success and positive feedback, the Dream Center is already planning a second hiring event for this fall. The next event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15th, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and several organizations have already expressed interest in reserving a booth. The Dream Center is committed to keeping the momentum going and expanding the opportunities available to the Fort Wayne community.
