A Soulful Summer Spectacular Tribute to the Music of Disney

They have won International acclaim as a world champion choir; they have won gold and silver medals competing in International Choral Olympics; they performed in the Colts Lucas Oil Stadium, Carnegie Hall and provided the music for Mass at the Vatican. A local phenomenon that nobody saw coming, and they keep coming with more remarkable accomplishments and accolades.

The Voices of Unity Youth Choir (VOU), directed by Marshall White, is the youth choral program of Unity Performing Arts Foundation (UNITY). UNITY was developed to improve a number of disparities that existed in the minority communities with regard to exposure to the arts.  Traditional art forms were relatively out of reach either geographically, fiscally, or culturally.

UNITY helped to fill a void when introducing young people to soulful artistic performance art genres, which served as a unique and non-traditional approach. While in the environment, empowerment, life coaching and mentoring help to develop and mold strong character, artistry, and leadership values. The end result after spending a minimum of 2 seasons in the UNITY ‘family’ typically yields a much more confident and intentional young person with aspirations for positive growth and development.

Kicking off the summer season, The Voices of Unity Youth Choir will perform Disney Classics expressing soulful versions of favorites that families across the globe have come to know and love.

"A lot of work is put into preparing for our concerts," said the Director and Life Coach, Marshall White. "The kids will learn the history of Walt Disney, study the artists and writers of the music, and other pertinent details so they can perform with passion and with a great sense of value. That's the key ingredient to the soulful art forms."
