Meet Elite Medical Staffing Agency!

Sitting in the Walker Career Center for Law, Warren Central High School student, Edwiena Noel never imagined she would one day become an entrepreneur and open her own business. Like so many others she found herself going down several different career paths before she found the one she loved. After having her son and taking a few college nursing courses; Noel went off to the Navy where she continued her nursing career. After leaving the Navy, Noel returned to school became an LPN and later went back and became an RN.
Besides her first year, most of Noel’s time as an RN has been spent working for agencies. During this time which was mostly pre covid Noel worked for about 7 different agencies at one time because it was hard to get 40 hours in the same facility working at just one agency. Having multiple agencies with multiple facility listings ensured not only a 40-hour week but possibly consistent hours at the same location. After working at these different agencies for a while Noel realized that she only really liked one of the facilities she worked for. She didn’t like the way the agencies conducted business and she didn’t really feel valued even though she was a hard-working employee.
Though the agencies did not realize they had an elite employee on their hands many of Noel’s peers saw her hard work and dedication and often encouraged her to open her own agency because she would be amazing at it. Noel joked about the idea but never really considered it until one night when she was on vacation in August 2021. Noel turned to her husband and let him know that she had to do something with her Nursing license, something bigger than what she was already doing. She felt God was pulling her in another direction, though she wasn’t quite sure where he was leading her. She started to investigate what it would take to open a medical staffing agency. She then let her husband know that this was what she wanted to do and that she wanted to make it happen by October.
With a goal that was seemingly impossible but determination and faith that would not allow her to deviate from her goal, Noel set out to get her company up and running by October. After reaching out to some of the veteran companies that she had worked for since the beginning of their operation, she was quickly hit with the reality that some people don’t carry the same heart as her. With familiar faces declining to offer advice, Noel took what could of easily turned her away and discouraged her into an opportunity to showcase just how dedicated to her mission she was and on October 23, 2021, the doors to Elite Medical Staffing Agency opened.
Many of the facilities that Noel reached out to were eager to work with her due to her reputation as an RN. Because she had worked for other agencies before starting her own, Noel had made some lasting impressions that secured her contracts when the time came.
Owning and operating your own company especially at the start up stage can get hectic. Luckily, Noel had some friends who happily helped her obtain contracts needed for her business and of course, she also had her husband, who is one of the company’s owners as well! Mr. Noel had no previous knowledge of how to create a website but like his wife he was dedicated to the mission. Mr. Noel created the company’s website and logo as well as all of their ads for social media; he also mastered handling their business finances which included filing taxes! Without him the company would not operate as smoothly as it does!
Despite the huge load her husband had taken on, Noel still found herself overwhelmed with work and desperately needing some extra hands for help. While hiring for positions such as CNA, QMA, LPN and RN; Noel ran across a familiar name and set up an interview. When Kiesha came in for her interview, she saw that a long-time co-worker, mentor and friend needed her help and she did not hesitate to offer, step in and take over scheduling. Kiesha was not the only person happy to step in and help, Noel also received help from other old friends and coworkers such as Samantha who became a scheduler and Felecia who stepped up and was the first to create the company's staff badges and apparel. Soon Noel would have a dynamite in-house staff that included some of her family.
With trusting and capable hands helping to steer the company. Noel was able to focus on staffing her company with the most elite workers in the medical field. Changing the agency game, Noel became one of the first known agencies to not only conduct interviews but also provide orientation and facility walk throughs for her employees. This is a part of her goal to ensure maximum success at the sites her staff will be working at and to ensure that the right medical staff is joining her company and living up to the expectation she has for the company. Like its name, Elite Medical Staffing Agency strives to hire only the most elite CNAs, QMAs, LPNs, RNs, and on occasion housekeeping and dietary staff.
Noel knows that she hires the best of the best and she always wants them to know and feel the appreciation she has for them. To do this, she does things such as giveaways and office parties to make sure her staff feels the love. Noel also makes sure that she and all other appropriate in-house staff are available to staff in the field whenever needed, this could be for scheduling issues, payment issues or just general questions.
Elite Medical Staffing is now hiring in several cities in the Indiana and Ohio area. They currently only staff nursing homes and assisted living facilities with the hopes to soon add hospitals to their list of facilities and one day even offer home health services. The Fort Wayne office is now accepting applications for most all positions except dietary and housekeeping but apply soon because staffing is limited in the area. You can expect to be interviewed and if hired attend an orientation where all in-house staff will be present so that you get to know the members of the family you are joining because that is exactly what this company is. A family!
